The Mk3 NC PCM Pinout

Two 60-way connectors, 120 terminals, drawn to the real plug face.

2006 to 2015 · Confidence: high

One Mk3 NC sheet, 2006 to 2015. No donor plug sits behind it: the face is read off the Mazda factory PCM connector figures and checked against the factory terminal tables, and the colours are read from the UK factory wiring diagrams. Confidence is high. The full how to read a sheet is on the ECU pinouts hub.

Read this first

Wire colours change between year builds and markets, and the Mk3 colour tables are read from the UK factory wiring diagrams, so treat a colour as a starting point and the cavity map and function as the reference. Ring every pin out on your own car before you cut or crimp.

The first NC sheet, and the first built from factory data rather than donor parts: functions come from the Mazda workshop manual PCM inspection table, matched pin for pin against a second source. Colours are read from the UK right-hand-drive factory wiring diagrams and agree with that second source on every pin it draws, and the face is confirmed against the factory drawing in the same manual, a wire side view agreeing on all 120 cavities. The 1.8 and 2.0 share the pinout bar the oil control valve on 2E, which the 1.8 leaves vacant.

Still to confirm on car

  • One cavity, 2O, is wired on the factory diagram with no function named anywhere, so it is drawn as unknown.
  • We have no NC donor plug, so the housing keying is not drawn on the sheet. Orient it by a known pin.

How to read the sheets

  • Drawn looking into the PCM header, the same view as the wire side of the harness plug.
  • Pin A is ringed red, top-right on both connectors, and the letters run down each column from the right-hand end.
  • Find a known pin first, the 12V feed or a ground, to fix left from right.
  • The plug in your hand, mating face towards you, is the mirror of what is drawn.
  • Each cavity is tinted by what the pin does:
